JBL Bar 9.1 has a very powerful Dolby Atmos soundbar. The bar has a great and impressive design that is modular as well with it surround speakers. The sound quality, as well as the connectivity approach of the JBL, is great. The small sweet spot of the JBL Bar 9.1 is a drawback. The soundbar can replicate the sound of the cinema at home.

Price and Availability:

JBL Bar 9.1 would cost you about $999 when it would be available. The availability of the bar is expected to be in April, this year. As compared to the rival soundbar, Samsung HW-Q90R with subwoofer, wireless rear speakers and Dolby Atmos soundbar, JBL Bar 9.1 is a better option when the price is concerned.

Design:

First glance of the soundbar makes you believe, it is an average soundbar. But a closer look reveals that JBL Bar 9.1 has two detachable rear wireless speakers. This feature seems really cool to me. You can detach the rear speakers from the sound track and then they can be placed behind you while watching a show or movie. The speakers would give you the experience of cinema at your home. The wireless speakers can later be connected with the soundbar to recharge them. The rear speakers remain attached to the soundbar through the use of magnets that have been fixed on both sides of the soundbar. The magnets keep the rear speakers in place and safe. The rear speakers have a battery time of about 10 hours for play back.

The control buttons like power, audio source selection and volume are located at the top of the soundbar. The LED on the soundbar is an indication of the volume level you are listening to.

The subwoofer of the soundbar is a big black box. It can be placed at the side of the soundbar. The soundbar and the rear speakers both are wall mountable.

Features and Performance:

JBL Bar 9.1 is a great soundbar, giving you a range of specifications. It can collaborate with the Apple AirPlay 2 and Google Chromcast. Thus, streaming music and shows through JBL soundbar is a great experience. If you would like to stream the music through Bluetooth JBL Bar 9.1 is there to make your wish a reality. Wi-Fi connectivity is an option not unknown to it thus; there is no need to sit at a place to enjoy your shows. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity gives you the freedom of roaming around the house and doing all your tasks while listening to your favorite songs.

Talking about the connectivity feature of JBL Bar 9.1, I believe JBL Bar 9.1 is a very versatile soundbar. It allows you to connect to it via HDMI either as an input device or an output device.  The out HDMI port has an HDR passthrough. The feature makes JBL Bar 9.1 very compatible with 4K resolution and Dolby Vision.

JBL Bar 9.1 has a compact size. Still the small size of the soundbar does not its quality performance. The JBL Bar 9.1 performs very impressively. The upward firing drivers of JBL Bar 9.1 make Dolby Atmos audio very spacious. The sound bounces back from the ceiling. The wireless subwoofers provide awesome, pounding and powerful bass. The sound of rainstorm on JBL Bar 9.1 made us believe as if we were under the raining sky; the thunder seemed to come from a distance. On the whole, the sound provided through Dolby Atmos was very hallucinating.

The sonic sweet spot of JBL Bar 9.1 is limited in its range. If you are a person who watches his shows being static in his comfortable couch and does not like to roam all around while watching TV, the restricted range of sweet spot won’t matter to you much.

While Summing Up:

We can say JBL Bar 9.1 is worthy of being impressed with. The Dolby Atmos audio and wireless rear speakers magnetized into soundbar and different connectivity options are the appealing and attractive features and specifications of JBL Bar 9.1. JBL Bar 9.1 is capable of being one of the best soundbars of 2020. JBL 9.1 offers great sound quality. If you want to enjoy the movie at home with the cinematic vibes, this gadget is great in providing you that. The rear speakers that can be dispatched from the soundbar when placed at your back give you a great cinematic experience.
