It is a fairly wide soundbar. The width of the soundbar makes it ideal for the now-a-day’s big-screen TVs. A lot of space is required to place the soundbar under your TV. However, placing the soundbar if you don’t have enough space is not a big issue as the option to mount Samsung HW-Q90R Soundbar in the wall is available. Some control buttons are located at the top center of the soundbar as well.

Samsung HW-Q90R Features:

The headline feature of Samsung HW-Q90R Soundbar is its support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Samsung HW-Q90R Soundbar does not resort the acoustic beaming or psychoacoustics. The object-based audio formats is delivered by the soundbar. The soundbar uses 12 speakers and 17 drivers. The front 3 channels use 3 drivers each. The speakers have been divided into 12 channels as well. The front left and right, two sides, two rears, center, two front heights, a sub and a pair of rear heights. A 512 W amplification drives all these speakers.

Samsung HW-Q90R Soundbar delivers great object-based audio soundtracks. While playing the Bohemian Rhapsody, the soundbar made use of all available channels and created the scale of a great show. The music is handled by the front two channels. More width is added through the side-firing drivers. The sound of the audience is provided through the rears and recreation of echo chasm is produced through the overheads.

Samsung HW-Q90R Pricing:

On first glance, the Samsung HW-Q90R Soundbar seems very expensive. But as you look and understand all its features, you find it worthy of its price that would otherwise cost you more. To prepare such a soundbar would need you to have a nine-channel AV receiver and matching speakers along with the subwoofer package. The end result prepared might have a better sound but it would cost you more than Samsung HW-Q90R Soundbar as well. Moreover, it would be hard to install it as well.

Other Soundbars to consider:

Samsung HW-Q90R Soundbar has set its own standards. Other soundbars have not yet accessed the class of the Samsung HW-Q90R Soundbar. The Samsung soundbar has a class of its own. It is very difficult to recommend alternative soundbars for Samsung HW-Q90R Soundbar. No other soundbar is presently delivering a 7.1.4-channel experience with the use of wireless rear speakers and 4 upward-firing drivers.

Though the alternatives are difficult to devise, we recommend Sony HT-FZ9, Yamaha YSP-5600, and LG SL10YG. All these alternatives are less expensive than Samsung HW-Q90R Soundbar and do not have real rear speakers. The soundstage of these soundbars is very front heavy.
