LG’s Latest Bluetooth Speakers Feature a Radiator For High-Performance Bass

Published on June 30, 2020

LG has got a new family of Bluetooth speakers on the market. The new lineup is called the ‘XBoom Go PL’. If you are in the market for a BlueTooth speaker, you may want to learn a bit about LG’s new offerings before you make your purchase. The more premium ‘PL5’ and ‘PL7’ models include passive radiators that allow the Class D audio amplifier chips in the headphones to have very good low-frequency (bass) characteristics. The LG XBoom Go PL5 and LG XBoom Go PL7 are tuned by HiFi brand ‘Meridian.’ LG’s collaboration with Meridian gives the PL5 and PL7 models a ‘sound boost’ EQ mode that provides a minimal distortion and ultra-clear vocals.

Both the LG PL5 and the LG PL7 are water-resistant. The PL7 has a larger battery, netting you a full 24 hours on a single charge. The PL5 is no slouch in this category, though, lasting a full 18 hours before you have to recharge it. The lower-end LG XBoom Go PL2 will run for 10 hours and lacks water resistance. Also, the PL5 and PL7 include multi-colored LEDs that pulse to the beat of your music. A few more things the PL2 doesn’t have compared to its higher-end counterparts is the Meridian EQ and amplifier chip cooling solution.

All LG XBoom Go PL speakers feature LG’s ‘Dual Play’ system that allows you to create a 2-channel wireless speaker setup by using two LG XBoom Go PL speakers together. Also, you can pair the LG XBoom Go PL with any LG TV to create a rear stereo or surround sound setup. These nice little speakers are available on Amazon. The PL7 has an MSRP of $179, the PL5 is priced at $129, and the PL2 will only set you back $59.
