Xiaomi is launching the Mi Mix 4. The Mix 4 is the slimmest ceramic unibody smartphone made by the company to date. It has a 6.67-inch 2,400 x 1,080 resolution display that has a 20-megapixel front-facing camera embedded in its AMOLED display.

The Mix series has always placed an importance on pushing the envelope of form factor and industrial design. So, it’s no surprise to find out that these are among the first ceramic smartphones to have ever been made.

Xiaomi got rid of the chin in its Mi Mix 3 by moving the front-facing camera to a slide-up module. No one likes moving parts, though.

The screen has 10-bit color and supports the P3 gamut along with Dolby Vision, and HDR10+. It has a 480Hz touch sampling rate and a 120Hz refresh rate. It features a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus. Like a lot of other Xiaomi phones, the Mi Mix 4 has stereo Harman/Kardon sound.

The Mi Mix 4 is one of the first Snapdragon 888+ equipped smartphones. This chip is, of course, 5G compatible. It has a clock-speed of 3GHz and supports up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS storage.

The Mi Mix 4 also features UWB (Ultra-Wide Band Radio). Xiaomi is using UWB for a ‘Point to Connect’ feature that allows you to simply point your Mi Mix 4 at a compatible TV or smart speaker, etc, and the relevant app will show up on the phone.

Xiaomi is also going to be offering a UWB hub that will work with existing TVs. This hub is expected to launch in China on August 20th.

As far as rear cameras, the device has a 108-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel 5x optical zoom camera, and a 13-megapixel 120-degree ultra-wide camera.

The Mi Mix 4 has a 4.5Ah (amp-hour) battery. The device supports 120W fast charging which can take your phone from 0 to 100 percent charged in just 21 minutes in ‘normal’ mode and in just 15 minutes if you enable ‘Boost Mode.’ The Mi Mix 4 also supports 50W wireless charging which takes 45 minutes for a full charge.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will be available in China on August 16th. Prices start at $770 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB version and $970 for the 12GB RAM + 512GB model.
