PUBG-style ‘Battlegrounds’ mode to arrive on Hero Shooter Paladins

In the list of free, hero shooter-style games in the market, Paladins tops the list at the moment. The game has become so popular that it is being compared to the legendary Overwatch game. According to a report published by Gamespot, its game developers are apparently planning on launching a PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds-style battle royale mode. The mode in itself is titled, ‘Battlegrounds,’ and is expected to be integrated into Paladins at some point this year.

Just like PUBG, the ‘Battlegrounds’ mode in Paladins will spawn over 100 players into a massive map. The developer said that the map will appear in Hi-resolution and is actually over 300 times the size of a standard Paladins Siege map. Similar to PUBG, players in Paladin’s Battlegrounds will have to involve themselves in exploring the map and surviving by looting outposts for gears and more.

The only major difference in Paladin’s Battlegrounds is that the players will be added into smaller squads. They will be required to work and fight together in order to become the last team standing. The game developer even launched a trailer for the latest ‘Battleground’ mode for all interested members to view.

This is not the first time that a particular gaming title has attempted at bringing about a PUBG-style mode. Previously, major gaming titles such as Warface and Fortnite also brought about similar changes. In response to these clones, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds developer has commented, “We are concerned that Fortnite may be replicating the experience for which PUBG is known.”

It is natural for other game developers to use a formula that has proven out to be so successful for the gaming community. PUBG has gained massive popularity in a span of a year. They currently have about 3 million concurrent users on Steam alone. They plan on expanding their reach soon enough. The game is currently only available on Steam, Xbox One, and PC desktops.
