Pokemon Go updated; Apple’s AR tech come to use

Augmented Reality (AR) – based game, Pokemon Go was an instant rage when it was introduced back in 2016. Unfortunately for Niantic (the game developer), the frenzy was rather short-lived. The developers, however, did not give up hope on ensuring that Pokemon Go players still enjoy the journey. In a similar effort, they keep updating the gaming app with newer features. Recently, Niantic has collaborated with Cupertino technology-giant Apple with the objective to bring real and imaginary worlds closer to gamers than ever before.

A report by ABC News quotes Apple Vice President, Mr Greg Joswiak as saying, “It was the sensation. Everybody was doing it.” Joswiak was referring to the time when Pokemon GO was launched. Introduced in the Summer of 2016, the game was present on every youngster’s smartphone. The rage took over parks, sidewalks, streets and even graveyards for that matter. The popularity only seemed to get bigger by nature. Every other person on the street would be found playing the game. Pokemon Go ended up bringing back memories of older cartoon characters to its fans, and that’s what established the strong connection. “So that they feel as if they’re there, which is kind of what we want you to think,” says John Hanke, CEO of Niantic.

For whatever is worth, the Augmented Reality (AR) technology is just getting started with smartphone users. In fact, Apple only recently integrated its worldwide-used operating system, IOS with the AR-oriented kit. It would make sense for Apple to spark up a friendship with Pokemon Go – who can be credited for bringing this innovative technology under the light. In what way correctly will Pokemon Go be using the Augmented Reality (AR) technology offered by Apple, is yet to be found.
