OnePlus 6 supports Google augmented reality platform ARCore: Report

In December 2017, Google launched the ARCore on Play Store, the official Appstore of Google. The ARCore later replaced the Project Tango generally help the developer to introduce AR features on Android smartphones. The Google ARCore ha three important features, i.e., motion tracking, environmental understanding, and light sensation. All these features help to build AR content. Now a recent report has informed that OnePlus’s latest smartphone the OnePlus 6now supports Google’ augmented reality platform, i.e., ARCore. Members of XDA Developers have informed about this first as the spotted the compatibility on ARCore latest version 1.3.

The XDA Developers also informed that smartphones like OnePlus 5, Honor 10 and Xiaomi Mi 8 were detected listed for Google ARCore support. The newest version of ARCore, i.e., ARCore 1.3 can be installed on the OnePlus 6. However, the device shows unsupported on Google Play Store.  But it can be installed manually on the device. The XDA Developers members have tested the ARCore app, and they have also confirmed that the application is working without any errors. However, the list of official supported devices for ARCore has not yet been updated by Google. 

It may be noted that the recent OxygenOS update has brought Google’s visual search engine, Google Lens support to the OnePlus 6. Android Police first informed this. The site reveals the OnePlus 6 supports Google Lens.  Users can install APK on the OnePlus 6 to enable Google Lens.  After installing the application, the default camera application will start supporting the Lens. Those who don’t know about the Lens, using Google Lens users can obtain all the information related to that object just by just pointing the smartphone’s camera at an object. The Google Lens can identify landmarks, animals and can add events to the calendar. It can also automatically connect to a Wi-Fi network.

OnePlus 6 has a 6.28-inch Optic AMOLED display and offers 1080 x 2280 pixels of screen resolution. The display is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass Class 5. The latest Snapdragon 845 Octa-Core processor backs the device and clocked at 2.8GHz. The Indian model of OnePlus 6 has a 6GB RAM and offers 64 GB of internal storage capacity which can’t be expanded further.

On the rear side, it has a 16MP and 20MP dual camera setup which is supported by a dual LED flash. On the front side, it carries a 16MP camera. Backed by a 3300mAh battery, it runs on Android Oreo 8.1.
