Destiny 2 to be updated with Masterwork Armor, Rework Mods and more

Destiny 2 Game Director, Christopher Barrett in a recently-published blog post spoke about the new updates that are currently on its way for the game. As per the blog, the updates will start rolling out from January 30 onwards. The most important update is the one that will carry the expansive version of the Masterwork system. This is the first time that an update will consist of Armor.

According to a report published by Gamespot, the armor – which is expected to come with Masterwork expansive version system – will be offering better damage reduction when using the player’s Super ability. Apart from this, players are also provided with the ability to re-roll their Masterwork armor stat type, which can further be upgraded through the support of Cores and Shards within the same vicinity.

The update which is scheduled to arrive on January 39 is also expected to change the way Raid rewards work with the game. The main objective of this particular change is to ensure that the experience for players is “unique and interesting.” “They will now feature mods with Raid-specific perks, and we are adjusting the rewards to ensure a Raid item drops from each major encounter,” Barrett explained in a blog post. “The Raid vendor will also directly sell Leviathan and Eater of Worlds armor and weapons for purchase with Raid tokens and Legendary Shards.”

Apart from this, there will be many other better perks which can be used in the final encounters in both – the Leviathan and Eater of Worlds raids. Barrett further went on to add that Bungie game developers were working towards providing specific rewards to take care of some raids and activities scheduled to arrive in the near future.

An update coming in February, meanwhile, will add scoring and high score tracking to Nightfall Strikes, which will replace the existing time-limit mechanic. “The scoring is similar to the Destiny 1 system but with adjustments to emphasize competitive execution of Strike objectives and support for player selectable score modifiers,” Barrett said. “In February, Nightfall High Scores will be exposed in-game via new emblems and will unlock rewards. We also have plans for Clan and Community High Scores in the works.”
