Xiaomi has reportedly suspended the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update for its Mi A1 bunch of smartphones. It is a temporary halt made by the company. The pause was initiated after numerous users began complaining of performance issues on the smartphone after actually installing the latest software upgrade. “A screenshot from Mi Community, which was spotted by piunika.web, reveals that Mi A1 is expected to receive the Android Oreo update in the next couple of weeks,” reports Indian Express.
As can be recalled, Xiaomi released the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update for its Mi 1 line-up of smartphones back on December 31st last year. As soon as the update was being installed on the smartphone, Twitter users began taking to numerous social media platforms including Twitter to post complaints about the bugs and issues affecting their devices.
The list of problems including unresponsiveness of camera and dialer app, battery draining especially when the Bluetooth connectivity option is activated along with other troubles relating to the Recent application button. The Indian handle of the Chinese technology giant went on to confirm the existence of this issue in one of its community forums. They even took the opportunity to explain why such a thing was taking place. They addressed why MyJio app was getting hanged as well.
“We just dropped an Android Oreo update for Mi A1 a few days back. We stumbled upon an issue where some users were having an issue with dialer app getting hanged or there’s an unusual delay in making the call.
Upon researching we found that MyJio application is causing ANR when a call is being made or received and hence the issue. The issue is seen when MyJio app is being present with all app permissions granted,” reads Xiaomi’s community post. There are many other problems occurring with the fingerprint sensor gesture and unresponsiveness of ambient light sensor.
