Musk on Tuesday, 26th December, took to his official Twitter account to tweet, “I promise that we will make a pickup truck right after Model Y.” For those who don’t know, the Model Y is nothing more than an electric SUV. The electric automobile is scheduled to release in the span of next two years. He further went on to state that the upcoming pickup line-up would a tab bit bigger than the Ford F-150.

This isn’t the first time that Elon Musk has dropped such a hint wherein he speaks about a pick-up model is due. The CEO of Tesla has, on several occasions, responded to different suggestions on the social media platform regarding this matter. He has gone on to speak about what the company plans to improve in its future plans.

The electric car company has mostly paid attention to manufacturing consumer or passenger vehicles. This has been taking place for a decade now. It is high time that Tesla considers branching out in different directions. Given that the company now plans to manufacture electric semis, it is surely a good news.

The car company has invested heavily in battery production as well. “I promise that we will make a pickup truck right after Model Y. Have had the core design/engineering elements in my mind for almost 5 years. Am dying to build it,” Elon Musk tweeted on Tuesday, 26th December 2017.
