Yesterday, at IFA 2018, Samsung had taken the wraps off from its new C34J791 monitor. The CJ79 is said to be the 34-inch curved ultrawide monitor which have got the curvature of 1500R. The monitor will now be hooked up to the PCs as well as with the Macs that comes with the Thunderbolt 3 connectivity. This allows connecting the peripherals at up to 40 Gbps while they go to charge them.
The new CJ79 is said to be same as an ultra-wide category as the CJ89 which was launched during the last month. The CJ89 is ab ultra wide 1800R curved panel which is available in 43 inches as well as 49-inch variants with a resolution of about 3840 X1200 and 3840 X 1080. The CJ89 will be offering a large screen estate with more curvature than the CJ79, but it does not offer Thunderbolt 3 connectivity.
This 34-inch curved display in the CJ79 is said to be the VA panel with the high native contrast ratio of about 3000:1 along with a brightness of 300 cd. It will be more than enough for the indoor environments. The high native contrast ratio will not be the result of the inky blacks as well as it will get more punchy colours which are compared to the conventional IPS panel. It offers a wide 178-degree viewing angle with the ultra wide resolution of 3440 X 1440 yields with an aspect ratio of about 21:9. As per the company, the monitor has got a Grey to Grey response time which is about 4ms, but it will be interesting to see about the Black to White response time.
