OnePlus has expanded the range of color variants that it had made available for users, as far as its OnePlus 5T smartphone is concerned. According to a report published by India Today, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei said that the company worked for over two years and has finally hit upon a device that matches their standard of design. The good news is that the OnePlus 5T Sandstone White will come for the same price as the Midnight Black variant.
The report by India Today further goes on to suggest that the OnePlus 5T Sandstone White edition is the same as the OnePlus 5T Star Wars edition. The latter was exclusively made available in select markets such as India. The OnePlus 5T Sandstone White edition is practically the same, sans the Star Wars branding.
Keeping all these factors aside, this is the first time that OnePlus has moved forward and introduced a unique ‘sandstone finish’ smartphone. The handset packs a finish and texture that has never been seen in OnePlus smartphones before. It was roughly two years back that the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 smartphones introduced such a concept. However, the company decided to eliminate it due to the difficulty that they had to face while manufacturing the handset.
As far as its specifications are concerned, the smartphone ends up packing similar features as the OnePlus 5T Sandstone White edition. The handset is also made available in a special 8GB RAM/128GB ROM storage option. The smartphone is home to a full-metal body and rear-mounted fingerprint scanning feature. On the connectivity front, the handset sports a Type-C port for charging and data-syncing purposes along with a bottom-facing speaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Furthermore, the smartphone is powered by a 2.45GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip and Adreno 540 GPU with compliments provided by Android Nougat-based Oxygen OS. The OnePlus 5T Sandstone White Limited Edition will be available for buying in the US from January 9 and will cost buyers $559.
