According to a report published by Android Headlines, “The Chinese phone maker’s unit in Germany revealed via its Twitter account that the Android Oreo beta program for the OnePlus 5T ‘starts now.’” It is interesting to note that there have been no official mention or statement posted on the company’s Forum platform as yet.

The Chinese technology giant, earlier in November this year, had stated that they plan on launching a beta program for Android Oreo 8.0 soon. The program was exclusively going to be made for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T smartphones – both of which are flagship offerings of this year.

As mentioned already, the announcement made at that time was in direct conjunction with the revelation made regarding an open beta program for Android 8.0 Oreo-based version of Oxygen OS. It appears like the company is now working toward fulfilling its promise as the year draws to a conclusion. OnePlus 5 smartphones were introduced in the market back in November and its sibling – OnePlus 5T was launched sometime two months later.

OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T smartphones have made great revenue up till now. Its marvelous features, such as a bezel-free and large display, fingerprint scanning technology, a dual rear camera set-up, an expansive storage as well the presence of Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip has made the handset worth its price. The only thing missing was the presence of the latest operating system. However, it appears that this problem will be resolved soon as well.
