MSI GS65 Stealth Laptop: The Best MSI Laptop Yet?

Throughout the past decade, MSI has made a name for itself in the gaming industry. With keyboards, mice, headsets, and laptops, MSI is a pioneer in the field of gaming. Recently, MSI has again shattered the laptop gaming market with the new MSI GS65 Stealth, to which many reviewers are saying is the best laptop MSI has made yet.

Size Does Matter

Weighing in at just 4.14 pounds the laptop is surprisingly very light especially with the GTX 1070 Max Q graphics card, Corei7 8^th generation and 2 SSD slots giving up to 1TB of storage. The laptop has a decent 5 to 6-hour battery, extending up to 8 hours with power saving.

Design & Build Quality

While good build quality is now a staple of the MSI company some of their design choices with the laptop are, questionable at best. The laptop boasts an incredible 15.6” screen with amazingly thin bezels all joint to the body with aluminum Hinges. The hinges are a welcome addition, as they are not so openly displayed in other laptops. However, what is unforgivable about the laptop is the speaker placement.

The speaker, placed under the laptop, greatly flattens the sound from the otherwise great speakers. The keyboard is an official SteelSeries RGB backlit keyboard along with the trackpad that uses synopsis tracking. The area above the keyboard that connects to the display is a little flimsy but is nothing that takes away from the core experience.

The Monitor

What is possibly the most redeemable feature about the laptop, is the beautiful IPS, 144 Hz display found in very few laptops under the same price tag. The screen is fast, responsive, and just beautiful to look at. It has very less glare, and the webcam has an ok, 30fps 720p camera that gets the job done.

Verdict

In under $2,000, the MSI offers a GTX 1070 with a core i-7 8^TH generation and a 144 Hz screen; it is the complete gaming package.
