During the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, museums, realtors, and galleries alike have been needing a way to serve their customers from afar. Matterport claims its platform helped create over twice as many 360-degree virtual tours between March and August. The company is hoping to continue this trend by expanding its list of 360-degree compatible cameras.

Matterport added Capture support for Insta360 One X, Ricoh Theta V, and Ricoh Theta Z1 integrations last year. Now, the company has added the newer Insta360 One R camera to the growing list of Capture supported cameras. The full implementation of Capture for the camera is slated for an October release. So, consumers will have a 4th choice to Matterport’s very own Pro2 Professional 3D Camera.

Also, Insta360 is offering its One R Virtual Tour Kit, which is a camera, selfie stick, tripod mount, and 32GB microSD card combo, at a discounted price of $440 until September 17th. The bundle also includes a 2-month trial of Matterport’s Starter Plan (a $10 monthly value). This means you’ll be able to capture spaces and stitch them together on the cloud right out of the box.
