Following which, there were numerous reports that claimed that Apple might be working on a foldable handset as well. Coming back to Huawei, it appears that the company is potentially considering entering the foldable segment. Their latest listing on the official website of World Intellectual Property Organization is proof that the firm is working on a new foldable handset. The images that showed up on the site suggest that the company might be joining in with the campaign, Lets Go Digital.

There have been drawings of the upcoming device that have gone viral online. “The drawings depict a book-style smartphone that combines a hinge mechanism with a flexible display to be placing atop it,” an online report reads. The filing further notes that there is a soft supporting structure on top of it.

The notch makes it feel like there’s a hinge mechanism that will be placed on top of the display. It will make the whole flexible scenario possible. The hinge will not end up being metallic by nature as it will make the elastic situation impossible. It is interesting to note that such filings are no indication of whether Huawei might be in manufacturing a flexible smartphone.

Many a times companies end up filing patents that don’t meet transformation. The foldable smartphone patent is becoming a mainstream trend in the recent past. As can be recalled, China’s ZTE received the dual-screen design approved for Axon M. However; the handset was only available through AT&T for the American market.
