Microsoft is expected to unveil their latest version of the Xbox Elite Controller soon. While the Redmond-based giant hasn’t provided any information on the matter as yet, a blog website that goes by the name of Thurrott has managed to dig up some details regarding the matter. As per the information provided through the blog, Microsoft has apparently decided to do away AA-batteries in the favor of USB-C type of connection.

According to a report published by PC Games, the price of the upcoming Xbox Elite controller has managed to drop considerably as well. The well-built, feature-packed controller will come for a surprisingly lower price this time. “The initial launch of this controller was surprisingly successful despite its price, but once you get your hands on the weighty pad, you understand the price tag somewhat more,” notes the report.

The information regarding Xbox Elite Controller’s connection change first appeared on the China-based website called Baidu. They suggested that the firm is planning on integrating wireless connection with the help of Bluetooth-support. They also go on to claim that the new Elite Controller will be rechargeable by nature. This will be through the support of a wired connection. Furthermore, the micro USB connection in the Xbox Elite Controller will be replaced by a highly-powerful USB-C pocket.

Additionally, the Xbox Elite Controller will arrive in a deluxe carry case along with its charging base. The Redmond giant also plans on adding a third profile option with three different levels of trigger locks and a longer ability to paddle switches while traveling.

There is another suggestion that claims that Microsoft plans on providing the option to vary the resistance of the thumb-sticks. This will come in handy for different games. As far as the exterior design is concerned, it seems pretty similar to its predecessor.
