iPhone 6 Pro Leak Seems to Confirm New ‘Desert Titanium’ Colour Will Be Released
The recent leak of the iPhone 16 Pro’s camera ring has sparked speculation, seemingly confirming the rumored Desert Titanium color.
We thought we had a solid grasp on the color options for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. However, it was recently suggested that the iPhone 16 Pro lineup might feature a brown hue rather than the previously rumored rose shade. Now, additional evidence for this new color has surfaced, hinting it may be more visually appealing than initially anticipated.
Leaker Majin Bu posted an image on X (via 9to5Mac) showcasing what appears to be a camera lens ring for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max. The ring is displayed in four different colors: silver, black, gray, and what looks like a dark gold or bronze.
Interestingly, Bu refers to a white option instead of silver, leading to some uncertainty about whether we’ll see a white iPhone 16 Pro with a silver camera lens housing or if there’s simply a difference in color interpretation.
In any case, we’ve previously heard about a white or silver shade, a black shade, and a gray shade (potentially named Natural Titanium), so this serves as further confirmation of those colors. However, these shades are not particularly thrilling, especially since similar options are already available for the iPhone 15 Pro lineup.
The most intriguing aspect is the dark gold or bronze shade, which could potentially replace the Blue Titanium color of the iPhone 15 Pro. Bu has dubbed this new shade Desert Titanium, describing it as a dark gold, somewhat akin to the old purple color, discreet and deep.
This description aligns with the recently leaked brown shade. While some have dismissed it as dull, if the color leans more towards dark gold, it could be more attractive than initially thought.
Gold or rose?
The big question now is whether a version of this brown, bronze, or dark gold shade will make the cut or if we’ll instead see the previously leaked rose color. It’s unlikely that both will be available, as Apple typically offers only four shades for its Pro models.
Credible leaks have pointed to both colors, but curiously, one leaker who suggested a rose iPhone 16 Pro shade included an example image that appeared more bronze or gold. Given the more recent claims of a bronze or gold color, we’re inclined to believe that is more likely than a rose iPhone 16 Pro.
Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that the iPhone 15 Pro’s blue shade will return.
We’ll likely learn the official color options soon, as the iPhone 16 Pro release date is expected in the first half of September.
