In these days of equality between the sexes, men are now helping much more with the housework. However there is a danger to their health if they do too much too soon, especially if they are not used to this kind of work.
Hence the need for the housework timer. Set this running, do some housework, and when the sand has finished running through the hourglass, it is time to take a break, crack open a beer, and maybe watch the big game on tv.
