“Highs and Lows of the Tactical .22” by Nutnfancy04:33

It ain’t perfect but it’s fun. That’s the Tactical .22 or T22 in a “nutnshell.” In this vid I define exactly what I think a Tactical .22 is, talk to possible POUs, and discuss its highs and lows. A Tactical .22 is outfitted with the capabilities that will allow it to play in an advanced tactical carbine-type drills like seen in a Nutnfancy RunNGun since 2008. All weather, day or night, the T22 should be ready to rock and roll with an attached light (on rails), single point sling attachment, threaded muzzle, and 25 rd or more magazine capacity. A good trigger, pistol grip, adjustable LOP, BUIS that are co-witnessed, VG, and/or bipod add to the functionality and enjoyment factor but aren’t mandatory. Some POUs for the T22 include recreation (#1), competition (forgot to mention that one), survival, training, project gun, and introduction gun for the female or young shooter. The limited range, extended TOF of the .22 rimfire, often times errant reliability (some ammo related), and less blast/recoil sometimes dissuade would be buyers. That’s understandable. But the highs are substantial and win me over, even with current technology. First and foremost is the economy. Expect about 1/10th the cost of centerfire alternatives. For that huge cost reduction, I will put up with a few jams as I send 1000s, not 100s, of rounds downrange. This allow outstanding levels of fun and training you just cannot afford with centerfier (unless you’re sponsored!). More good things follow: less noise/blast (also a good thing), lighter weight for female/young shooters, good accuracy, and the ability to engage close-range steel targets. Engaging steel with your T22 can be done at very close ranges (using Actiontarget.com targets) and allows for seamless fun with no delays in scoring PBGs. Several excellent varieties have been reviewed and recommended here in TNP (shown).
