Halo 3 Beta For PC Will be Available in June [Halo: Master Chief Collection]

Published on May 25, 2020

Pretty soon, you’ll be able to play the entire original Halo trilogy on your PC. 343 Industries has announced that public beta for Halo 3: Master Chief Collection for PC should start sometime in the middle of June. You will have to sign up for the Halo Insider program to get access, but it’s free.

In a lot of ways, this remaster is significant. You’ll get to play the core Covenant story-line from start to finish on your PC, rather than having to switch to an Xbox to “finish the fight.” You will also get the chance to see how the developers enhanced one of the Xbox 360’s best titles for those that might have been too young to try it when it was initially released.

Before this, the only other original Halo franchise games to launch on the PC were Halo and Halo 2, and that was over a decade ago. This release is a pretty big deal for fans, and it’s probably a good move for Microsoft to be launching them on Steam, rather than forcing people to get them on the Microsoft Store.

When is Halo Master Chief Collection Coming to PC?

343 Industries has announced via Halo Waypoint that preparations are being made for the “Ring 1” to begin soon. Ring 1 is generally a tiny group of people working with the developers, other members of the Halo Insider program will quickly be able to test the game before it launches.

According to the 343 Industries, testing will start “in the coming weeks,” and will expand out to more Insiders shortly. “As it progresses and we work through our process we will make sure to keep folks apprised of when and where to expect the next series of PC flights to take off,” the legendary game maker stated.

When Will Halo 4 be on Master Chief Collection PC?

Seeing as Halo 3: ODST doesn’t have a multiplayer mode, expect that game to release along with Halo 3 after the test period. Then, Halo 4 will be the last final part of The Master Chief Collection to come to PC.
