Google warns all the News-indexed websites to serve fresh, unique and timely update else it would be difficult for them to stay in Google News. Due to the increased number of fake news, Google took this step to raise the standards and level of Google News. The company aims to organise a better news reading experience for all its users.

“Do not misrepresent yourself or your purpose. Sites included in Google News must not misrepresent, misstate, or conceal information about their ownership or primary purpose, or engage in coordinated activity to mislead users. This includes, but isn’t limited to, sites that misrepresent or conceal their country of origin or are directed at users in another country under false premises,” the search engine said.

With the warning message, Google also targeted the origin region of the site. Like for example if a site is indexed from in Google News from USA which means that the website needs to serve US News but it is targeting Indian or any other region audience to get some good bucks using advertisements then Google will surely shut that news indexed website.

“If your site publishes aggregated content, separate it from your original work, or restrict our access to aggregated articles via a robots.txt file,” search giant added.

The company has updated its guidelines for Google News and says that the advertising or any other paid promotional content on the news pages should not exceed the material present on the page. Limitation of these guidelines can cause deindexing of that sites from Google News.
