General Motors will be unveiling Chevrolet’s fully-electric Silverado at next year’s CES. GM had first mentioned the electrified pickup back in April. At the time, they said the EV will have at least a 400-mile range.

Today, Chevrolet confirmed this and also said that it will have a glass roof that will offer more headroom than a traditional truck cab. This will be GM’s first attempt at a glass roof on a full-size pickup truck.

So, let’s hope they don’t pull a move from their engine designing playbook and just make a current, metal roof design out of glass. Let’s go for something all-new here, Chevy, can we please?

I digress. Another neat thing about the new electric Silverado is that it will have a four-wheel steering option.

The electric Silverado will be derived from GM’s Ultium platform. Ultium is GM’s modular approach that allows it to swap in and out different battery and drive units to easily make electric vehicles. The Electric Hummer is also based on the Ultium platform.

To be honest, that sounds a lot like chopping 2 Cylinders off a V8 and calling it a V6. Sus.

We will hear more details about the upcoming electric vehicle at CES 2022 on January 5th.
