Published on January 3, 2018

The New Year has dawned upon us. You know what this means, right? One of the most anticipated events of the technology world, i.e. Consumer Electronics Show is here. This time, the event is scheduled to kick off on January 9, i.e. next week. Big announcements are awaiting our arrival. As noted by Tech Crunch, let’s take a look at what can be expected from this year’s CES:

CES 2018- Here’s what to expect

Smart home products

Smart home products dominated 2016’s CES as well and the same is scheduled to take place this year. Thanks to Amazon and Google and their smart home products like Echo and Home respectively, this particular segment has become even larger than what it used to be last year. One can expect large number of smart home devices from players like August, Ring, Kwikset, and Canary this time. While Apple has never been the kind to participate in CES, there are chances that the Cupertino giant might just end up revealing newer Home Kit products this time.

Virtual Reality – Augmented Reality

The virtual reality technology is expanding at a fast pace. In fact, VR and AR products have been a tent-pole at CES program for the past couple of years. This is likely to continue for the next couple of years too, as there is no limit to what could possibly take place through the help of this technology. Some of the key players in this segment include Qualcomm, Sony, Zeiss, Kodak, Google, and Lenovo, each of whom is expected to pack these modern-day technologies in their products.

Smart/Health Wearables

While many might consider this particular segment to be a dying one, the technology giants are not giving up on it just yet. Smart wearables or health devices have been a favorite one of CES for years. It goes without saying that CES provides brands with a great platform to push this product forward.
