A viewer suggested I try carpet tacks as sort of a penetrator core for shotgun slugs. I believe this idea was from one of those army improvised munitions field manuals. We put one in the end of a Lyman slug and another in a foster slug. Carpet tacks are hardened steel, and are strong enough to be driven into a concrete foundation. The idea sounded reasonable-enough to try out!
