Published on June 5, 2018
Apple’s ‘Worldwide Developer Conference’ (WWDC) – an event where company reveals it’s next-generation software and hardware for the thousands of developers. The conference is going to be held at McEnery Convention Centre in San Jose, California on June 4. The conference runs for over the period of one week.
Apple
WWDC is more likely to stick with software updates but we are hoping to see some hardware announcement as well. Here is what we expect from Apple to showcase at WWDC 2018.

iOS 12

While it’s officially not announced what Apple will showcase at WWDC, one thing is for sure – latest operating system for iPhone. There are already rumours in the market about iOS 12. While iOS 11 was more focused on customisability, accessibility, a complete redesign of Control Centre and App store – it is to believe that iOS 12 will provide more stability and fewer bugs for a smoother experience.
iOS 12 rumoured to include new functions to unlock your car, office, house and hotel doors. if you own an NFC enabled device. Smart locks can already be managed via Bluetooth but according to Apple, NFC is a more secure option. It is also believed that new OS will come with me security features like more parental control on iPhone, iPod and iPads.
FaceTime is also likely to get a new feature where you can video chat with multiple people at the same time. Improvements for HomeKit are also on the way. Apple is planning to add it’s a Home app you MacOS which will make it easier for Mac users to control home accessories.

MacBook Pro

It is possible that Apple will announce a revamped model of current MacBook Pro with currently available Intel’s 8th generation chips of i-series processors. It is also a necessity as Apple has yet to release a new MacBook Pro with better performance and better battery life. Apple also needs to address its butterfly key design which is lately receiving bad user experience.
Other rumours suggest that Apple is likely to announce a new entry-level MacBook. It is likely to be priced at current MacBook Air or maybe even cheaper. According to a report, this new MacBook will feature a similar screen as available on 13.3-inch MacBook Pro with 2,560 x 1600 resolution.

Watch OS5

For now, there is no news about the next generation Apple Watch but it is likely to happen that company will announce its new Watch OS 5. Users can expect new watch faces and upgraded customisation options.

TvOS 12

There are not many rumours about tvOS 12 but there will be some kind of announcement, big or small. Just a few weeks ago Apple released tvOS 11.4 which includes support for AirPlay 2. With this update AirPlay, 2 is now a part of the Home app for homeKit devices. It will give users to control AirPlay 2 playback via iPhone, Apple TV, or Siri.

iPhone SE 2

Apple always reveals its next-generation iPhones at its fall event in September but if rumours are any true then the company may reveal iPhone SE 2 at WWDC 2018. According to the rumours, new SE 2 will sport an iPhone X like screen design with complete front and back glass. As far as specifications go, glass back on iPhone SE 2 will allow wireless charging. It will come coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32/128GB storage option. It will come with Apple’s A10 Fusion chip along with 12MP back and 5MP front facing a camera.

MacOS 10.14

The most anticipated rumour about MacOS is the possibility of “universal apps”, which will allow users to sync apps on iOS and MacOS. That means, you can always continue your iMessage from your iPad or iPhone to your Mac, just from where you left off. There is also a possibility that Apple will move all apps to 64-bit APIs for iOS and MacOS, maybe not this year but in near future.
There are also possibilities that Siri will be more powerful than ever. There are also rumours that Apple is working on a control panel for Mac just like we use on iOS devices. This control panel will combine the notification bar, Dock, and Launchpad for easier control of apps and documents.

iPad Pro

Apple iPad Pro wasn’t announced at the education event back in March in Chicago, so it’s more likely to believe that it will release at WWDC 2018. If rumours are any true then Apple iPad Pro will sport a similar look like iPhone x, no home bottom and minimal bezel. It is also rumoured that Apple Pencil will get an upgrade with new software updates and tools.
