Apple iPhone X vs Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus: Battery test revealed!

Published on April 19, 2018

It goes without saying that Samsung and Apple’s latest flagships are pretty much creating the most amount of buzz. In fact, no other smartphone is generating as much trend as their flagship devices. The newest introduction from Samsung includes their Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus smartphones. Along with it, the Cupertino giant also went on to take the wraps off the iPhone X smartphone. We will be lying if we say that the Tim Cook-led firm does not have a stranglehold on high-end markets as of yet. Their smartphones are always the talk of the town. Therefore, we end up reading a lot about it as well. This year – like most previous years – has not been any different. The Apple iPhone X and the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus smartphones have reportedly stood out from each of the brands and have gone on to be compared with each other at the same time.

According to a report by BGR, “The latest comparison comes courtesy of AppleInsider, which put both phones through a series of tests to see which phone has the more impressive battery life.” A battery is perhaps, one of the most important components of a smartphone. Both Apple and Samsung have undergone stress when it comes to the battery feature of the device. As can be recalled, Samsung had a particularly bad 2016 with the launch of Note 7 smartphones, which ended up exploding. Meanwhile, Apple did not have a good start to 2018 as it was discovered that the company was slowing down iPhone batteries. The Cupertino technology giant was carrying this activity out without the consent of its users. It was enough to enrage some of the consumers to file a lawsuit against them. Therefore, the battery aspect is a rather tricky one when it comes to Apple as well as Samsung. “But before you watch the video, you should know up front that the Galaxy S9+ has a 3,500 mAh battery while the iPhone X has a 2,716 mAh battery, so it’s not a fair fight,” notes BGR.

To the surprise of most viewers, Apple’s iPhone X ended up managing to top the S9 Plus smartphone. The former was ahead of the latter in the particular standby test. The battery of the smartphone was at 99 percent when the test was carrying out. The 99 percent mark came to be after being left alone for about 16 hours. At the same time, the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus smartphone ended up dropping down to 85 percent capacity over the same length of time. “This would be the iPhone’s only comfortable win,” notes an online report.

After playing YouTube for over three hours, Apple’s iPhone X battery went down to 55 percent. However, Samsung’s Galaxy S9 Plus battery went down to 67 percent. After an hour of playing the action-packed game, Vainglory, the Apple iPhone X battery went down to 87 percent. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S9 Plus smartphone battery went down to 84 percent. “Then the actual benchmark tests from Geekbench came into play, at which point the iPhone X could no longer compete,” notes BGR. We will be lying if we say that the Tim Cook-led firm does not have a stranglehold on high-end markets as of yet. Their smartphones are always the talk of the town. Therefore, we end up reading a lot about it as well. This year – like most previous years – has not been any different.

This competition between Apple and Samsung was never a balanced one. Apple Insider has always ended up comparing each company’s flagship product with each other. If you are the kind who considers the battery to be substantial, then you can opt for the Samsung Galaxy Plus smartphone.
