Amazon Alexa to venture into Windows 10 PCs as powerful business tool

E-commerce giant Amazon has made yet another exciting announcement this year. The company stated that their Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered voice assistant is going to be integrated into Windows 10 operating system-run computers soon. The newer version of the computers will come with Alexa digital assistant right out of the box. As per the announcement made by them, the products will be launched in the market in the first quarter of 2018.

According to an online report, once these products arrive in the market, it won’t take long for the machines to completely change the way they function. Different types of devices will start reacting in different ways. The market is currently flooded with endless options, as far as voice-controlled AI assistants are concerned.

Computers powered by AI digital voice assistants have successfully reached the critical masses. They have now started spreading in many other sectors as well. As noted by numerous media reports, a number of computer manufacturers announced that they are going to be shipping some of their Windows 10 PC models with Alexa installed. This will allow the owners to send voice commands directly over to their PCs and carry out activities such as kick-starting a search engine, listening to music or performing other tasks pretty easily.

“We think voice will be a big part of the future, and we’re excited that this is day one for Alexa on PCs,” an Amazon spokesperson told eWEEK in an email. “Voice and AI can simplify everyday tasks for customers, and now that includes capabilities on their desktops and laptops.”

This obviously leads one to wonder whether or not other Windows 10 users will be able to download and install the Alexa standalone app and use it on their computers. “We want Alexa to be everywhere our customers are. But I don’t have anything specific to share as of today,” the Amazon spokesperson stated.
