For 2016 McLaren produced the 570GT, a more ‘practical’ version of its entry level 570S. Yes, it’s still a supercar with 570 horsepower, 0-60 times in the low 3 second range and a top speed of 204mph. The thing is, you’re able to dial all that performance back and make this car a very livable, and some might say practical experience.

The McLaren 570GT is technically as hatchback, but why anyone would attempt to use the hatch is a mystery. It’s tiny and can hold no more than a small backpack. The 570GT wraps you in a wonderful leather interior with carbon fiber accents and a Bowers and Wilkins sound system that sounds amazing. Hearing that car audio experience while hammering the 570GT around a racetrack or down your favorite back road is another thing. Once the revs get up above 4000 the sounds of this twin-turbo V8 take over, and you’ll want that.

Handling is nimble, delightfully responsive, and when track setting is selected the car darts from corner to corner perfectly and effortlessly.
