A replacement (safe) Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was smoking and popping on Southwest airlines causing an evacuation. Thank God it did not explode or catch on fire that would be even scarier while on an aircraft. The guy said that after he powered down his phone then put it in his pocket it stated making popping sounds then started smoking so he took his Note 7 out and threw it on the floor of the plane. Also fyi, not sure if its a hoax or not but there are rumors the new iPhone 7s exploding too now.

To make matters worse my carrier Tmobile is charging me $30 a month for my temp Note 5 replacement. I called mobile and the rep apologized but wth I paid full price for my note 7. She apologized and said the good news is that they got an email stating that stores will be stocked with the safe new Note 7s today and tomorrow so i should be receiving an email to return my Note 5 and my old Note 7. And after I return both phones they will credit back all the charges for my temp note 5 replacement. I assure Im gonna be wasting time explaining to them about these charges.

And now…. we get this news about the new safe Note 7 smoking on an airplane. So i guess there’s gonna be even more delays and tmobile will continue to charge me monthly for the Note 5. I should just return the Note 7 and say the hell with it!

“Sarah Green of New Albany told The Courier-Journal of Louisville that her husband, Brian, was waiting to take off to Baltimore when his Galaxy Note 7 overheated. He called her from another person’s phone a little after 9 a.m. to tell her what happened.

“He said he had just powered it down, when it made a popping noise and started smoking,” Sarah Green said. “He took it out of his pocket and threw it on the ground.”

Green said her husband’s phone was a replacement Galaxy Note 7 after Samsung recalled the phone in mid-September because of “serious fire and burn hazards.” They took the phone in about two weeks to a local AT&T Store to have it replaced.’
