Will North Korea allow two of its figure skaters to compete in the South Korean Olympics?

Ryom Tae-ok and Kim Ju-sik are the athletes in question. They’ve qualified to compete in the Olympics, which will be held in Pyeongchang, a five-hour drive from the DMZ, or demilitarized zone.

Many hope the skaters’ participation will help thaw international tension. But North Korea famously boycotted the 1988 Olympics in Seoul. It’s unclear if either country will allow the figure skaters to compete.
