There’s a whole lot of new content coming to Netflix in September, but also some leaving. Here’s what to look for on Netflix in September:
Narcos (Season 4):
Narcos tells the true-life story of the growth and spread of cocaine drug cartels across the globe and attendant efforts of law enforcement to meet them head on in brutal, bloody conflict. It centers around the notorious Colombian cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura) and Steve Murphy (Holbrook), a DEA agent sent to Colombia on a U.S. mission to capture and ultimately kill him.
Bojack Horseman (Season 4):
In an alternate world where humans and anthropomorphic animals live side by side, BoJack Horseman, the washed-up star of the 1990s sitcom Horsin’ Around, plans his big return to celebrity relevance with a tell-all autobiography that he dictates to his ghostwriter Diane Nguyen. BoJack also has to contend with the demands of his agent and on-again-off-again girlfriend Princess Carolyn, the misguided antics of his freeloading roommate Todd Chavez, and his frenemy Mr. Peanutbutter, who is also Nguyen’s boyfriend. The series satirizes Hollywood, celebrity culture, drug abuse, anxiety and the entertainment industry.
Club de Cuervos (Season 3):
Set in the fictional city of Nuevo Toledo, Mexico, the series focuses on the Cuervos FC, a soccer team that faces an identity crisis after the death of its owner, Salvador Iglesias Sr. Due to male-dominant cultural attitudes, his son, Chava, is quickly chosen to take on the role of new president, despite the fact that his sister, Isabel, is considered to be better suited to run the team. Isabel is resentful of Chava and his position as leader, and vows to do whatever possible to take his place as president. Chava, whose vision is to transform the team into the “Real Madrid of Latin America”, soon proves to be a poor decision-maker and often angers his subordinates, especially Vice President Felix Domingo and Coach Goyo. The series also explores the relationships between the players on the team, and how they are impacted by Chava’s decisions.
Real Bob (Season 2):
Centers around comedian Rob Schneider’s real life while living in Hollywood.
Fuller House:
Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber are among the original “Full House” cast members who have returned to star in this spinoff, “Fuller House.” D.J., now widow and a mother to three sons, finds herself back in her childhood home alongside her sister Stephanie, an aspiring musician, and her lifelong friend Kimmy Gibbler, who is also a single mother. All under one roof, the women experience moments big and small together, including budding romances, holidays, parenting and life’s surprises.
Hercules:
Disney tackles Greek mythology in this animated feature. Hercules (Tate Donovan), a son of gods, was snatched as a baby by Hades (James Woods) and forced to live among mortals as a half-man, half-god. Now a teenager, Hercules needs to perform a rite of passage on Earth to prove himself worthy of living with the gods on Mount Olympus. With his plucky satyr sidekick, Philoctetes (Danny DeVito), along for the ride, Hercules must learn how to use his strength to defeat a series of evil creatures.
Mulan:
Fearful that her ailing father will be drafted into the Chinese military, Mulan (Ming-Na Wen) takes his spot — though, as a girl living under a patriarchal regime, she is technically unqualified to serve. She cleverly impersonates a man and goes off to train with fellow recruits. Accompanied by her dragon, Mushu (Eddie Murphy), she uses her smarts to help ward off a Hun invasion, falling in love with a dashing captain along the way.
Little Evil:
Little Evil is an upcoming American horror comedy film, written and directed by Eli Craig. It stars Evangeline Lilly, Adam Scott, Owen Atlas, Clancy Brown, Tyler Labine, Donald Faison, Chris D’Elia, and Bridget Everett.
Our Souls At Night:
Two widowed neighbors (Robert Redford, Jane Fonda) develop an unexpected relationship in their small Colorado town.
CSI: Miami (Seasons 1-10):
A Florida team of forensics investigators uses cutting-edge scientific methods and old-fashioned police work to solve crimes. Horatio Caine, a former homicide detective, heads a group of investigators who work crimes amid the steamy tropical surroundings and cultural crossroads of Miami.
