*Vintage Video from Super 8 film. In 1976, I was managing the Electric Shop at El Toro. Every 6 months a Detachment from our Squadron, VMFP-3, took 3 RF4B Photo Reconnaissance Birds out for deployment operations, South of Japan, Philippines, Hong Kong, and Vietnam. I was on board in 1976. The Midway had “Magic” then and is now a museum in San Diego California with that same “Magic.” I just re-visited her, so thought I would present this to those of you who can’t get back out to see her again.
Thanks to all the service veterans and especially those who served on the USS Midway. It was the most exciting time of my 33 year Marine Corps Career. Please pass this on to those Navy and Marines you know. Semper Fi,

Dave Herbert “A’bear”
USMC Ret.
