You can easily backup and restore your Wechat history from one device to another (eg phone to phone, phone to ipad, phone to computer, ipad to tablet, etc)
Important note: If you get an ERROR while trying to upload or download, just keep pausing and restarting. I had to do it like 40 times and it took me 3 days to do, but all good now.
While on wechat with all your message you want to sync to another device do this:
– on the top right click the 3 vertical dots
– click on Settings
-click on general
-then click on “Backup/Restore Chat History
– click on backup (once complete you have 7 days to restore (download) the history onto you other device.
-Once backup is complete, log in wechat on your other device
– again click on the 3 vertical dots on the top right
– on the top right click the 3 vertical dots
– click on Settings
-click on general
-then click on “Backup/Restore Chat History
– And now you click on “RESTORE”
After restore is complete you should have all your chat history including message, videos, photos, etc
Important note: I recommend everybody to link your Wechat to your email with no delay. This can save you time and headaches later on…trust me!
