A few words from the author:
It was a near ambush designed to funnel us into an area. We were already involved in a firefight earlier on the patrol and were completing our mission more south for the day. I was the team leader up front as the point man and as i noticed an odd situation and called to move back, the taliban engaged with PKM fire hitting me three times. The rest of the squad used suppressive fire as i was moved back behind cover where aid was administered and then I was medevac’ off the battlefield. Occured December 18, 2010 in the Zhari district of Kandahar Province, Afghanistan.
