We test the HEAVY version of the UPK-2 Russian slugs. I have only seen Russian shooters use shotguns equipped with rifled chokes (that they call a paradox nozzle) to shoot these slugs. When we tested the lighter, 30 gram version of these slugs, we had remarkable results using both rifled chokes and through a cylinder bore. Spin stabilization didn’t affect the accuracy. But when we shots these, we saw something different. Despite the loss of the stabilizing tail on about half of the shots, these slugs still persevered. It’s like an airplane losing its tail and still flying.
