Overview of NASA’s Juno mission to Jupiter. The launch window opens at 8:34 a.m. PDT (11:34 a.m. EDT) on Friday, Aug. 5, 2011. The spacecraft will arrive at Jupiter in 2016 to investigate the gas giant’s interior, atmosphere and aurora. Juno’s color camera will provide close-up images of Jupiter, including the first detailed glimpse of the planet’s poles.
