UPDATE: Uber ordered to stop self-driving in CA
Uber’s launching its self-driving cars in San Francisco, with a new third-generation autonomous vehicle built using Volvo XC90 SUVs. These cars feature Uber’s latest sensor tech, and more powerful onboard computers for more advanced autonomy overall. They’ll have drivers, as a safety backup for now, but will eventually become fully autonomous.
