We put household ammonia inside a sealed test tube and superheat it with a torch. I also lit some sulphur (sulfur) nearby creating a cloud of SO2 around the experiment. What will happen?
SO2 is often used to help locate leaks in NH3 (R717) refrigeration systems. The white cloud of smoke will show exactly where even a tiny leak is coming from. Small sulfur sticks are lit for this purpose.
