The curve consists of 4 sections, one stationary, the others movable. They are connected together by revolution joints. So the curve has 3 DoF. Drives to vary the curve shape are not shown.
Motion from input pink gear-rotor is transmitted to orange gear-rotor (that may carry a tool) via bevel gear drives.
They are constant velocity joints.
