Published on August 27, 2017

Lisa Gade reviews Toshiba’s 12.5” ultraportable with 360 degree hinges and Wacom AES pen- the Portege X20W. This is an extremely thin and light convertible with a magnesium alloy casing and Intel 7th generation Kaby Lake Core i5 and i7 CPUs. The 15.4mm thick, 2.4 lb. / 1.08 kg notebook is available with 8 or 16GB RAM and fast PCIe NVMe SSDs. It has a 1920 x 1080 IPS matte display with Gorilla Glass 4, a backlit keyboard and a Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C Gen. 2 port. Pricing starts around $1,199 for the Core i5 and it’s available on Toshiba’s website and from MicrosoftStore.com. The X20W competes with the Microsoft Surface Pro, Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 and other thin and light convertibles and 2-in-1 models.
