T.Rex arms may be way more interesting than first thought. The question: was T.Rex making love…or war?
Researchers have long claimed they were tiny, useless limbs. But they may actually have been vicious weapons, using 4-inch claws to slash prey in close combat. Hawaiian researchers point to the dinosaur’s unique arm sockets, which allow the arms to move in several directions and gash prey in rapid succession.
But other experts believe the claws were actually used for mating, helping the T. Rex hold tight for…well, you know. Even without the use of its arms, the T. Rex was one of the most feared dinosaurs in combat, boasting the most powerful bite of any animal in history.
