Standing at 7 feet and 7 inches, Asdrubal Herrera is the tallest man in Colombia. He has a medical condition that is known as gigantism or acromegaly. Those who have this disease grow at an alarming rate and require medication to stop their growth. People with gigantism often have many health issues, including heart problems because the heart is not strong enough to pump blood through a body of that size. While Asdrubal may face difficulties with many daily tasks like getting into a taxi or taking a shower, he maintains a positive outlook. Asdrubal hopes to one day be able to have a “summet of giants” where other people like him can get together and share their stories.
