Dave, the inventor of the first ever No Tail Rotor Helicopter (even before Hughes a/c), gives an in depth description of another step in flying history.
The Hyperfly was invented by Dave to allow RC airplane pilots to fly helicopters and feel comfortable with them. Back then no gyros, stabilization, nothing, so helis were hard. Now..too easy!
It also was a STOL aircraft that is being used as a Military UAV Surveillance vehicle.
It could be catapulted off the carriers and caught with arresting cables.
It was one of the biggest selling models of all time.
It is on display at the AMA “History of Model Aviation display at the San Diego Aerospace museum.
