This steel framed Taurus Judge can put a lot of lead in the air. With composite specialty loads like Hornady’s “410 Triple Defense” this Public Defender is potent package: two 35 caliber round balls topped with one non-jacketed FTX slug! Now that’s firepower out of a portable revolver. Smaller than the Judge, the Taurus Public Defender is easier to carry. The amount of portability gained is debatle however because it’s still heavy and thick. And against some big bore alternatives like a Glock 20/29 10mm, Glock 36, or Springfield Armory .45 XDM Subcompact, it has the huge disadvangtages of slow reload and limited rounds. But we still found the PD to be reliable, accurate, and possessing of excellent value given its price. Recommended.
