TARDEC and Lockheed Martin successfully conducted the second Autonomous Mobility Appliqué System – Capabilities Advancement Demonstration (AMAS CAD) at the Savannah River Site in South Carolina; this time with more vehicles and at faster speeds.
The 7 vehicles unmanned convoy traveled at speeds of more than 40 mph during the demonstration for a group of senior Army and industry leaders.
Autonomy-enabled future vehicles will provide warfighters a distinct technological advantage on the battlefield and the flexibility to adapt to tomorrow’s ever-changing and evolving threats by creating greater stand-off distance from danger, making supply distribution more efficient and decreasing logistics burdens for the Army of 2025.
