Stephen Hawking says we have just 500 years before humanity is extinguished in a “ball of fire.” Nice.
According to the 75-year-old physicist, overcrowding and increased energy consumption will put us shoulder-to-shoulder as the world “glows red-hot.” Hawking has given doomsday predictions before, warning that artificial intelligence or extraterrestrial life could one day destroy the human race.
But his latest predictions spell climate change as mankind’s killer. Hawking believes it’s so bad, leaving earth is our only change. His $100 million research project with Mark Zuckerberg aims to develop high-speed robotic spacecraft that could travel up to 100 million miles per hour. The goal is to get close-up views of distant star systems, and possibly find mankind a new home.
