We got a hands on glimpse of the Sony MDR-1000X noise canceling headphones at IFA 2016, and they showed all the signs of being a high quality travel headphone. Now that we’ve had dozens of hours listening to the MDR-1000X, it’s safe to say that these are the best travel headphones you can buy right now.
Sony’s MDR-1000X beat out both Bose and Sennheiser’s noise cancelers, and they do it with vastly superior sound. The signature is clear, detailed, and full. These are headphones an audiophile would be happy to own. Noise canceling is about 90% of what Bose offers. The Bluetooth connection on the MDR-1000X delivers remarkably high quality audio.
