In my case, I follow around 500 people, and keeping up to date with the latest thing in the tech field is the challenge. In this video we illustrate an alternative to keeping up to date with your tweets, through a free option on . Receiving mobile notifications (SMS) allows tweets including links, pictures, and video to be sent in a simple text message to your mobile phone. This will send certain recipients that you choose to have their tweets shot over to your phone. There any many options in regards to selecting user’s tweets to be sent.
How do you do this? The only way to do this is through ‘s website. Once there click on a user, and then click on the person with a drop down arrow. The select the option “Turn on Mobile Notifications”. This will start sending you all of the user’s tweet to your telephone. Why would someone do this? For me it came down to being in a faulty data area in terms of cellular signal, and considering a text message needs an EDGE connection, this keeps me up to date. Also, checking a massive timeline with other 3,000 tweets a day is quite difficult. Let me know what you think of this little option!
