NASA’s Commercial Crew and Cargo Program is investing financial and
technical resources to stimulate efforts within the private sector to
develop and demonstrate safe, reliable, and cost-effective space
transportation capabilities.

Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) is partnering with NASA to advance the
development of a commercial crew space transportation system as part of
the Commercial Crew Development (CCDev) program.

The Dream Chaser is based on NASA’s HL-20 lifting body design pioneered
by engineers at NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va.
